Denis Williamson -- Airmont Service Unit
Denis has been an active member of the Airmont Service Unit and the Girl Scout Council of Rockland County for more than 20 years, providing quality experiences for our girl scouts and excellent service to our council.For more than ten years, Denis has served as Service Unit Delegate.He demonstrated a thorough understanding of council's actions and issues.Denis was both clear and candid in his presentation of information keeping leaders up to date with Girl Scout protocol.As the council worked through its bylaws issues and leadership changes, Denis was the picture of calm reason.And for that we are most thankful.For five years, Denis kept the Service Unit update with a newsletter he wrote and produced.Denis is a strong advocate of camping and of Camp Addisone Boyce serving for over 10 years as Airmont's camping consultant, being a part of the council's Camp Operating Committee for over 9 years, offering Camporee workshops, and volunteering as a camp site director.The Airmont Service Unit has camped often because of his leadership.In addition, the council can always count on Denis to be a part of United Way's Day of Caring up at Camp Addisone Boyce.Day of Caring is an important United Way activity so having a council Board Member show his support by rolling up his sleeves is important to the council.Denis has also found time to be the Service Unit's cookie dad and product salesperson.Also at the council level, Denis has served on the Gold Award Committee and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors.In this capacity he is quick to answer inquiries from his constituency and is helping to steer our council in the right direction.He is also working with a team of board members and a consultant from GSUSA to develop a strategic plan for the council.Denis has always been fair, objective and informative in his many dealings with Girls Scouts.For his years of diligent dedication, we pare pleased to present the Thanks Badge to Denis Williamson.
