Chuck Williamson, director of bands for Marion High School said the camp, which started Aug. 2, runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day for two weeks.

Chuck Williamson has served as director of bands at Marion High School since 2000.Under his direction the Marion Band Program has flourished into one of the premiere high school music programs in the region.The Marion High School band has received numerous accolades and awards in the areas of Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, and Marching Band.Mr. Williamson received his Bachelors of Music Education from Southern Illinois University.He is a member of the Illinois Music Educators Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and has served as the Band Division Chairman for Dist 6 IMEA.His directing responsibilities include: the Marching Wildcat Band, the MHS Wind Ensemble, the Pep Band, and the Jazz Ensemble I.

We were blessed with the addition of Chuck Williamson, band director at Marion High School.What a voice!And he even reads music!Our first Music Appreciation Sunday was held on May 16th and we plan to make this an annual event.It incorporated the various groups as well as the young people.The choir also added several pieces of new music to its collection this year such as Knowing You, The Lord is My Light, Faith to Face, and Disciples of Christ.On a few anthems, the choir was blessed by the addition of other instruments.Tom Anderson and Joab Henderson assisted on the guitar and bass, Toni Shoukletovich on flute, Chuck Williamson and Shailer Martin on trumpet, Ryan Conley on trombone and Shane Martin on baritone.
