"God forbid if anything does happen ... you're going to have mass chaos here if you don't have a plan," said Chuck Williamson, risk manager for Boca Raton Community Hospital.
"We had a few things in place before [Sept.11] had occurred, because we knew that we needed something," Williamson said."Once this thing took place in September, it really kind of pushed things up to the forefront."
After Sept. 11, the agencies teamed up to work on emergency protocols, as well as to get money for equipment and for training.
The Police Department applied for the grant on behalf of all the agencies.The Police Department, fire-rescue and hospital have used the money to buy equipment including decontamination pools, gas masks, protective clothing, gloves, boots and respirators.

They've also started meeting to craft emergency plans, Williamson said.
"Our main concern is, if we have a little situation going on here, we want to make sure we can control it on our own grounds here," Williamson said."We wanted to be able to all be reading off of the same page.Not only that, but this would give us the opportunity to also have the same type of training."
