Amelia has experience of surgical and intensive care nursing but has spent most of her nursing career in acute and chronic pain management.After qualifying in Leicester, Amelia moved to Liverpool and then Birmingham to continue her career.She spent two years as a Lecturer at Coventry University before undertaking a PhD at the University of Birmingham and the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust.

Amelia aims to complete her PhD in the near future.The study looks at amino acid neurotransmitters, cytokines, anxiety and depression in patients with osteoarthritis.Amelia is also involved in a number of other research projects investigating pain in a number of patient groups.
