Those drugs, however, are usually used only in cases of an outbreak and in conjunction with the flu vaccine, said Dr. Jeff Williamson-Link, medical director for the occupational medicine and urgent care department at Edward Hospital in Naperville.

"It doesn't replace the flu shot," Williamson-Link said.

The group is led by Jeffrey Williamson-Link, M.D., MPH, medical director of Occupational Health and Immediate Care services at Edward.An internist who is board-certified in occupational medicine, Dr. Williamson-Link has also served as medical director of Occupational Medicine Network, Inc.Most recently he was on staff in the occupational/employee health department at GlenOaks Medical Center and Hospital in Glendale Heights , Illinois , and also served as a residency instructor in occupational medicine at Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale , Illinois . Dr. Williamson-Link believes, "Providing care and treatment for employers' most valuable assets, employees, is a privilege and a job I take very seriously.The primary goal for our patients: quality care and a safe return to the workplace."

Dr. Williamson-Link earned his medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington and his master's in public health at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor . He completed his internal medicine residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and his occupational medicine residency at the University of Michigan.Dr. Williamson-Link lives in Glen Ellyn with his wife and four children.
