    Phillip Williams is Editor-At-Large for MovieMaker magazine, for whom he has been a regular contributing writer since 1998.He has interviewed and profiled dozens of filmmakers as diverse as Jean-Jacques Annaud, Pedro Almadovar, Jonathan Demme and Wong Kar-Wai and has written numerous cover stories for both Script and MovieMaker magazines.His feature articles have covered all areas of film production, from the art of family filmmaking to a recent retrospective piece on the filmmakers of the French New Wave.Williams worked at Walt Disney Feature Animation in Artist Development -- the company's internal training department -- supporting the artistic teams of such films as ,Pocahontas,, Hercules', ,Tarzan, and ,The Emperor's New Groove,.In 2002 he created DreamCastles, an on-going series of workshops that bring the art of visual storytelling to young people in California Schools.He has recently returned to Disney as a guest lecturer for the Disney Feature Animation Story Trainee program.After studying Communications at The College of Marin in Northern California, Williams completed the Sequential Film Program at UCLA Extension.

    Phillip Williams, author of Beyond the Moon, grew up in Central Texas of poor but hard-working parents.As the family did not own an automobile, he had to walk a mile to the country store to buy groceries, and another mile to the little schoolhouse that served as a church on Sunday.He was always interested in the works of the early American writers such as James Fennimore Cooper, Washington Irving, and later Zane Grey.Attending the University of Houston, he studied Psychology and English.Although he wrote several novels during his twenties, he became discouraged that no markets could be found.Primarily a magazine writer, he has published articles in regional, national, and international magazines including Texas Magazine, Reminisce, Reunions and Reader"s Digest.
