Lisa Williams, donor relationship manager at the NSPCC, said that the charity is also using SMS to attract new donors and fundraisers. 'We're using SMS as a response mechanism for people who want to get involved with us, by printing a shortcode on leaflets that will be handed out,' she said. Although the NSPCC already has an online facility for the collection of donations, Williams said this is first concerted effort by the charity to push people to the Web site. 'We do generate some income online at the moment, but it's fair to say it comes from people who have either seen our TV ads or found the URL on a leaflet - those who want to seek us out,' she said. 'The 'Someone to turn to' campaign will be the first time we've tried driving people to our site using advertising.'
