Williams named Alabama Small Business Person of the Year
Lisa Williams is the founder and President of 3D Research Corporation.She began her career in the high-tech industry before founding 3D Research Corporation in 1997.Prior to starting 3D Research, Ms. Williams provided support in the test and evaluation of major DoD programs such as the Theater High Altitude Air Defense (THAAD) and the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) programs.
3D Research Corporation is a woman-owned SBA 8(a) certified company, performing systems engineering and integration; test and evaluation; modeling and simulation; environmental engineering; program management support; information technology and meteorological sciences.3D Research provides high-tech engineering support to DoD, NASA, and commercial customers.3D Research Corporation is headquarted in Huntsville, Alabama, and has operations in 17 different locations around the United States in addition to a major operation in the Kwajalien Islands.
Williams has been featured in the Huntsville Technology Today magazine cover story, "Huntsville's Women in Technology" recognizing her as a forerunner of women in the high-tech industry.She was further recognized for her leadership as a finalist in the 2001 Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Executive of the Year.Ms. Williams also led 3D Research Corporation to national recognition with the win of the prestigious Nunn-Perry award in 2002 for the successful Mentor Protégé partnership with Computer Sciences Corporation.As a result of Ms. Williams Leadership philosophy and practice, her company was nominated and selected a Finalist for Huntsville's Family Friendly Business of the Year for 2004.She was also recently named the 2004 Small Business Person of the Year for the State of Alabama and traveled to Orlando to the Small Business Administration's SBA Expo '04 to represent the entire state of Alabama.
