--- Avid Williams, Tenor, is a native of New York, NY.Williams has been recognized for the classiness and beauty of his singing and the ease and naturalness of his acting, bringing highly meaningful performances to both lead and character tenor roles in a variety of repertoire.Upon graduating from The Boys Choir of Harlem, Mr. Williams received a Fellowship to study at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.

Mr. Williams has performed orchestral works such as The Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings by Benjamin Britten with The Queens Philharmonic.

In the midst of his performing schedule, Williams found time to record the world premiere recording of Psalm by John Magnussen.

In the fall of 2004, Mr. Williams will perform as the Tenor Soloist in the World Premiere of Sopra il Ritratto di una Bella Donna; Scolpito nel Monumento Sepolcrale della Medesima by Micheal Vassallo.

With more than five years of experience as a judge of competitions, Mr. Williams has served as the Vocal Coach/Accompanist for the NAACP ACT-SO National Competition.Mr. Williams is an active member of the Schomburg library Corporation.Williams possesses something from all virtues of operatic vocal types, beautiful timbre, strength in the dramatic outburst, and energy to shape the psychological foundation of his figure.

AVID WILLIAMS - VOICE

AVID WILLIAMS is a graduate of the Boys Choir of Harlem, a recipient of a fellowship to study at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music.He attended the Goethe Institute of Berlin in Germany and is completing a Master of Music degree at Brooklyn College.Avid has also performed major roles in La Boheme, La Traviata, Nozze di Figaro (to name just three), with the Bronx Opera, the Regina Opera Company, and the New York Philharmonic.Mr. Williams was also the featured soloist of the annual World Aids Day sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.He has also served as conductor of the Queens College Chorus, produced the Annual Celebration of Black American Composers, served for over five years as vocal coach/piano accompanist for the NAACP ACT-SO National Competition, and is an active member of the Schomburg Library Corporation.
