In 1992, I. Phillips abandoned the traditional architectural office format and joined his wife Kathleen Wild, a well-known interior designer.Together, they have achieved a fresh new approach to architectural practice.I.Phillips/K.Wild provides design and design development services on a very selective and personal basis.

Kathy Wild has worked in interior design for over thirty years.Before moving to Houston , she worked in New York as Assistant Designer for Easton & Larocca and Junior Designer for Fulton Partners.In 1981, Wild began work in Houston as Designer at Lloyd, Jones & Brewer and then as a consultant at Phillips & Brown before forming I. Phillips Architect/Wild Design with her husband, architect Irving Phillips, in 1992.

Wild obtained her B.A. from Trinity University in San Antonio , TX and her M.A. in Environmental Science from the Pratt Institute Graduate Design School in Brooklyn , NY where she was awarded first place in the Multi-Use Building Competition.She has also studied at the Pratt School of Architecture, Parson's School of Design & The New School and has participated in the Continuing Education Program at Harvard University 's Graduate School of Design.While in New York , Wild was a member of the Institute for Architecture & Urban Studies.In 1980 she served on the Presidential Inaugural Committee in Washington , D.C. as Inaugural Ball Coordinator and as Staff Assistant to the Heritage Coordinator for the Reagan-Bush Campaign Headquarters in New York . From 1998 to 2002, Wild served as Event Committee Design Member for the American Festival of the Arts.She is now a member of the Rice Design Alliance and is a Board Member of the Greater Houston Presbyterian Alliance where she has served in the past as both Secretary (1991) and Vice President (1992).
