John Wild
John became Head of Voice at Alra in 2003.
Having trained as an actor he has worked for the last twenty-five years, performing in theatre, T.V. and film.In 1994 he studied voice at the Central School of Speech and Drama and, as well as performing, began teaching voice and directing in several drama schools in and around London, including The City Lit, Rose Bruford, Mountview, Webber Douglas, Rada, Poor School, Guildford, Alra, in addition to the Manchester Actors' Centre and Ecole de Mime Corporal.He has given workshops at the Henley Business Management College as well as working with private clients.John also directed his own company: Gowild Productions, The Cracked Actors Theatre and students for the Sam Wanamaker Shakespeare Festival at the Globe Theatre.
Having studied Tai-Chi for many years John has continued researching the integration of body, voice and mind, and has recently been working with Pan Theatre in Paris, Stemwerk in Rotterdam and The Roy Hart Theatre Centre in France.
John recently completed a PGCE in Performing Arts and is continuing his research, helped, by becoming a Roy Hart Theatre voice teacher, teaching in France, with workshops here in London.He has recently been voice coach for the national tour of The Maharabharata ( summer 2007), for The Unicorn Theatre ( 2007) and for the Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre Company ( National tour 2008).He is also currently working on his one man show ,The Pigeon' and offers workshops at Alra ( see short course).
