The cinema, named after the Blackburn-based film makers Sagar Mitchell and James Kenyon, will be open to the general public and be staffed by UCLan students under the direction of Adam Wild, the cinema manager.

Adam has just returned from Northern Norway where he was researching Arctic Indigenous Cinema, but he has now put his research aside to run the new Arthouse cinema at UCLan.

Prior to this he lived in Bologna, Italy where he was involved in the organisation of Human Rights and other film festivals.

He hopes to create an exciting and diverse programme of films for the cinema and sees enormous potential for collaboration with ceth.

The film, which highlights the issue of global trade justice in the coffee industry, continues its national screening run at UCLan, which the cinema's manager, Adam Wild, describes as something of a "coup".
