When he asked Raiser why he left the Salem, N.C., police force, Raiser told him it was because he became disenchanted.But Wihera testified he learned that Raiser left while facing a disciplinary hearing for an accusation of unnecessary force brought by another officer.

Wihera cited several violent threats and alleged incidents in Denver, where Raiser was hired as a police officer in 1999.
