Mr. Beverly A. Whitney

Mr. Jenks was born in Beverly and graduated from Walpole High School and Suffolk University.

Mr. Whitney was born in Maynard, where he lived until moving to Osterville 23 years ago.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the Navy Seabees.He served in the uniform branch of the Massachusetts State Police, where he was an expert in narcotics investigation.He retired after 23 years as a lieutenant.He later worked as chief of security at Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 1969 to 1989, where he also updated the campus police department.

In the 1970s he was a selectman in the town of Maynard.

He was a member of the Maynard American Legion Post, and the Maynard Elks.

He was also a member of the Retired State Troopers' Association, Osterville Association and Hickory Hill Association.
