BAPTIST VALLEY, Va. -- Mr. Ulys White, 70, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Clinch Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness.Born on Dec. 31, 1932, he was the son of the late Ulysses Stewart and Nancy Evaline White of Whitewood.He attended Bandy Freewill Baptist Church.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Marsha Lynn White Sparks; two brothers, Elmer White and Jack White; and one sister, Jeanette White Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rushia Mae Johnson White; one daughter, Donna White Vance and husband James of Baptist Valley; two grandsons, William Andrew Sparks and Randy Nickolas Sparks, both of the home; two sisters, Amanda Bandy of Bandy, Va., and Bessie Mitchell of Baptist Valley.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and staff of the ICU Department of the Clinch Valley Medical Center.
