    On Thursday, October 23, 2002, our brother Richard White was critically injured in a single car accident during a chase.Brother White has been an officer with the Thurmont Police Department for two years.It appears that he is paralyzed.It is not certain yet if the injury is from the nipple line or from the waist line down.Richard and his wife Tracy and one child and are expecting their second in the next couple of weeks.

    These two volunteer fire companies have joined together on this event to help raise funds for Thurmont Police Officer Rick White who was seriously injured in the line of duty as a police officer.In addition to being a police officer, Rick entered the volunteer fire service as a youngster in his hometown of Emmitsburg by joining the Vigilant Hose Company.When Rick moved to Thurmont, he joined the Guardian Hose Company.

    All proceeds from this tournament directly benefit Rick and his family.
