Paul White, CenterFest's coordinator, said having the festival on the heels of recent weather caused him little worry."We could not ask for better weather," he said.

White said Isabel also wreaked havoc with volunteer training for the event."Our primary volunteer training was scheduled for Thursday," he said."Obviously, we had to cancel."

Despite the canceled plans, White said nine out of 10 volunteers showed up Saturday.He also said a lack of training should not prevent volunteers from coming out."We will definitely put people to work," he said.

Last year, Isabel wreaked havoc on the setup, and this year, CenterFest coordinator Paul White is waiting to see whether Ivan will hamper the event, slated for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

White added that this year includes a new CenterFest initiative.

"There will be plenty of opportunities to register to vote.I've even borrowed some voting machines.This is a great big event, the deadline to register is October, so why not take advantage of the chance?"he asked.

Additionally, White said Joe & Jo's Downtown will offer a beer garden that will serve alcoholic beverages.
