   "They've got a good ballclub and I'd rather play them right off the bat if I've got to beat them anyway," said Mountain Home head coach Lester White.

   I always like to see who I'm going to play, but we had scheduling conflicts and it didn't work out," said White.

   We won two straight at Springfield, so I thought at that point we were going forward and had gotten a lot better," White said."But we've hit another lull at the end, and it wasn't good.We lost some one-run ballgames that we should've won.When you get up a ballclub that is equal to you, and you make mistakes, it ends up costing you."
   
   White has juggled his line-up, shifting several players in the batting order and defensive lineup.
   
   "We've made some defensive moves," he said."We moved a second baseman, a third baseman and a first baseman.Hopefully that helps us defensively and adds some extra to our ballteam on both offense and defense."
   
   The district tournament is always full of surprises and seedings often mean nothing as teams play a nine-inning game in the district tournament after playing seven-inning games in the regular season.
   
   "It's completely different," White said of the nine-inning games.

   Our job is to have everyone playing their best," White said."But I do like to play some nine-inning games in the regular season and if I could've scheduled some more, I would've.We just couldn't do it."
   
   Overall, both White and Fudoli agree that pitching and defense will be the key to success.

   Our pitchers aren't going to be striking out more than three or four a game, so therefore we have to make the plays," White said.

   But White reminds fans to expect the unexpected.
   
   "It always boils down to surprises in the district tournament," he said.

   Mountain Home had nine fly outs on the night, due to what Lockeroom head coach Lester White described as a bad approach at the plate.
   
   "That centerfielder caught everything that went up," White said of Express outfielder Chris Driedric.
