Jennifer White - How to live sustainably (and happily) ever after
Successfully reducing our environmental impact and building a sustainable future means more than just installing compact fluorescent bulbs and improving our fuel efficiency. It means also creating a personal and collective vision of a good life that is inspiring and meaningful.Living lightly on the planet requires that we make some practical adjustments in our lifestyles and attitudes about consumption, but it doesn't require that we sacrifice the things that really bring us genuine happiness. If we each do our part and learn to cooperate, we can effectively address the serious global challenges before us and create a better world for everyone. And if we approach all of this in the right frame of mind, and work together, then sustainability can (and will) be fun.
Jennifer White is Executive Director of the Simplicity Forum, a national nonprofit and multidisciplinary think tank of leaders committed to "achieving and honoring simple, just and sustainable ways of life."As co-founder and Director of Education for the ConservED Project, she developed and facilitates an educational program for helping people discover what they can do in their homes and businesses to reduce their environmental impact and live sustainably "from the heart."Jennifer is known for her humorous and engaging approach to teaching and has developed an educational process designed to go beyond simply educating people about the environment to include the human emotions and values that really lead to sustainable and satisfying long-term behavior change.http://www.simplicityforum.org
