James White
During his 25 years in broadcasting, James White has excelled as a disc jockey, a technical engineer for various local and nationally-syndicated talk shows, and as a producer, reporter, and news anchor for National Public Radio, WAMU, WWRC-AM, and Metro Networks.
As producer of local segments for Morning Edition, White records promos, checks the accuracy of news spots and long-form reports, edits news copy, and pulls news stories from the wire to produce the local newscast.He also does interviews and serves as the host when Bill Redlin is away.
White has worked for local, national and international radio, including Mutual/NBC radio, CBS radio, Unistar radio and the Voice of America.Over the past eight years, he ventured into television, producing diverse programs for Maryland Cable Public Access including "Blues at Archie's" and "The House of Music.", and in conjunction with film historian and critic Greg Anderson, White is the producer of "Looking at Black Films."
Currently White is also the producer of Youth Radio-DC, which teaches local youth age 13-21 how to produce radio programs.Youth Radio-DC is the Washington bureau for Youth Radio which orginates in Berkeley, California.
White received an associate's degree from the University of the District of Columbia in 1991 for his lifetime achievement in the field of broadcasting.
