Caitie Whelan, Co-Founder & Co-Director
Caitie has been working with the Merasi since 2004.
She co-conceived and implemented The Music Narratives Project, an on-going archive of Merasi music, co-directed the Hearts with Hope 2 Tour, and, in the summer of 2007, co-founded The Merasi School.
Caitie is a Truman Scholar from the great state of Maine, an alum of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies creative nonfiction writing program and India Editor/monthly contributor to www.wanderingeducators.com.
She graduated from Brown University with a degree in Anthropology.
When not directing The Merasi School with Sarwar, Caitie works on Capitol Hill.

Believing that each person can make a difference, Karen and Sarwar Khan encouraged Caitie to expand upon the successes of FAR's small scholarship program and a daily tutorial for women and children.
