The affidavit was sworn by Mr Mike Wells, a former director of Fynwest, the company that launched the botched scheme to train the industrial mercenaries in Dubai.
According to Mr Wells, it was Dr Webster who introduced him to the head of Patrick stevedores, Mr Chris Corrigan.

"He said he was in regular discussions with the Federal Government and, in particular, he was talking to Mr John Sharp and Mr Peter Reith who were aware of his plans," Mr Wells says.
The affidavit says Mr Wells and Mr Corrigan also discussed a plan to recruit former military personnel to work on docks in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

According to the affidavit, Dr Webster advised Mr Wells during a phone conversation in September last year that "everything was in hand, it probably was not wise to contact him again unless I had a problem.
