SALINA -- Jack Pierce Weisgerber, 85, Salina, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at a Salina retirement center.He had served three terms as mayor of Salina.

He was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Salina, to George and Alice Pierce Weisgerber.He graduated from Washington High School in 1934 and Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina in 1938.He worked for Salina Concrete Products for many years.

He was a founding member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church in Salina and served as the first treasurer of the church.He was treasurer of the Presbytery of Northern Kansas for more than 15 years.

Jack Weisgerber, who served for many years as the Presbytery's Treasurer and who also is a member of the Salina Sunrise congregation, had quadruple bypass surgery in early June.He has developed complications and remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit at Salina Regional Health Center-Santa Fe Campus.Please keep Jack in your prayers. -- -

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Weisgerber and the former Alice Pierce.

He married Maurine Armour on Nov. 22, 1950, at Niles.
