Mary T. Weiner, Ph.D.
Dr. Mary "Tammy" Weiner joined the faculty of the School Psychology Program in 1989.She received her master's and certification of advanced graduate studies in school psychology from the Gallaudet School Psychology Program and her doctoral degree from the University of Maryland at College Park.She is certified as a school psychologist in Maryland.
Dr. Weiner has had various working experiences related to psychology and schools.She was a behavior specialist at a residential school for deaf students and also used her behavioral background in working with deaf developmentally disabled adults in California.Her past work within the deaf community also included parent education and forensic psychological testing experiences.
Dr. Weiner's current areas of interest are child development, deaf parents with hearing children, behaviorism, and attention deficit disorder.She is deaf herself and enjoys working with families with deaf members.Dr. Weiner teaches courses in psychology and deafness, behavioral and therapeutic interventions with children, child development, and behavior disorders.
