Michigan Ducks Unlimited Has announced that Daniel Weikel of North Muskegon has been awarded its annual Russ Bengel Award of Merit.The award is named for one of the early founders and leaders of Ducks Unlimited in Michigan.The award is given annually to the top Michigan volunteer who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in pursuit of Michigan Ducks Unlimited objectives and goals.

Weikel is a retired engineer from Johnson Technology.He is a twenty eight year Ducks Unlimited member and volunteer.During those years, Weikel has served Ducks Unlimited as area chairman, zone chairman, district chairman, executive coordinator, and currently is the Ducks Unlimited state secretary and state newsletter editor.
