    CLEVELAND — Chuck Weier said Wednesday proposed state rules designed to protect the Great Lakes fishery and reduce paperwork for commercial fishing businesses and fish wholesalers are long overdue.

    Weier, president of the Wisconsin Federation of Great Lakes Sport Fishing Clubs, said the rules would help assure sport fishers that commercial fishing businesses are "playing fair."
