Our guest speaker today was Susan Weidner, Food Service Supervisor of NWL School District.She informed us of the new computerized Point of Sale program for our cafeteria.

Susan also informed us that there will be a new Wellness Program for the next school year (a federal mandate).This program will be presented to the NWL School Board in May/June and should be approved by July 7.

Susan Weidner will be retiring at the end of this school year.We wish her the best in her retirement!Thank you, Susan!

Susan Weidner, food services supervisor at Northwestern Lehigh, said the district was notified Wednesday that it had been shipped a case of the recalled meat on Sept. 26.It will remain in the freezer at the middle school until she's told what to do with it.

"It's best to remember that listeria should not be a problem in school-age children unless they have an auto-immune disease," she said.

Northwestern Lehigh School District has a contract with Coca-Cola, but has a vending machine in the cafeteria that does not sell carbonated drinks, said Susan Weidner, supervisor for food services.The district sells soda from its concession stand at football games, she said.
