Carthage resident Abbie Wehr has filed as a Democratic candidate for Rush County Auditor in the Nov. 2 general election.
"Rush County is a great place to live, and I am eager to contribute my time and energy to make county government the best it can be," she said."As county auditor, I will use my past experience as a store manager, my degree in business management, and my knowledge as an active community member to serve the citizens of Rush County."
Wehr has an associate's degree in business management from Indiana Business College and is a graduate of Zionsville High School.She was manager of a McDonald's restaurant in Indianapolis for three years and was a census taker for the 2000 census.
Wehr describes herself as an active member of the Rush County community.She's a member of the Carthage Lions Club, the Veterans Memorial Dedication Committee, "Make a Difference" in Knightstown, and St. Rose Church of Knightstown where she is a Sunday School teacher and chairman of fund raising for the St. Rose Ladies' Society.
Wehr was named Farm Bureau Outstanding 4-H member and was a 10-year 4-H member in Boone County.She's currently a 4-H teacher and exhibit judge.
