Paul C. Weggum, 81, of Mountain Iron died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 10, 1919, in Cooley, Minn., to Christ and Anna (Augedahl) Weggum.He grew up in Cooley and graduated from Nashwauk High School.He married Lois Youngberg in Grand Rapids on June 28, 1968.He lived on the Range for most his life.He was employed as a welder for Butler Bros. and M.A. Hanna Mining companies.He was a member of the Sons of Norway and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by sister, Margaret Vihstadt of Mankato, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, on July 12, 2000 ; sister, Agnes Cullberg, in 1999.
