Linda Wegge Slipke, president of ATC Wegge Ltd., recently was tabbed as volunteer of the year by Grayslake's economic development commission.Wegge has been on the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce board in a volunteer capacity for more than 20 years.In addition, her company sponsors various community events.

"I give back to Grayslake because Grayslake has been so good to me and my family," explained Linda, adding that she is happy to volunteer her efforts "wherever and whenever they are needed."

Besides being a member of the Board of Directors for Community Trust Credit Union (which has branch offices in Grayslake and Gurnee - and another opening in Lake Villa next year), Linda serves on the Grayslake Arts Festival Committee, and the Grayslake Summer Days Committee.She is past-President and a current member of the Board of Directors of the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce, and is also active in the Grayslake Downtown Business Trick-or-Treat Committee.

"There aren't too many civic events happening in Grayslake that I'm not involved with in one way or another," added Linda, whose business is ATC Wegge Limited, an accounting and tax consulting firm founded in 1960 by her father who move the business to Grayslake in 1963.

Our September meeting featured accountant Linda Wegge, EA, ATA, ATP, FLTP, who provided us with an exciting and upbeat overview of the different types of business entities that may be appropriate for us.Linda owns the accounting and tax firm of ATC Wegge, Ltd. in Grayslake, IL.The firm specializes in accounting and taxation for small businesses and was established in 1960.The staff of ten people helps clients with monthly and quarterly accounting needs, payroll, estate and trust planning, sales tax, Quickbooks*, annual reports, tax returns, estate and trust planning, and other issues a client may have.Linda is a director for the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce, Community Trust Credit Union, and three private boards, as well as an instructor with the National Tax Practice Institute.Linda gave us handouts that we can use in decision making for our businesses and answered several questions from attendees.Thanks to Linda for her insight and enthusiasm!
