    Captain Debbie Weeks from the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps presented the PVAC with a plaque honoring the organization with 35 years of service.Operations Manager of Sloper-Willen , Bruce Heats , also presented the corps with a 35th Anniversary plaque.

    Weeks, daughter of Buddy and Debbie Weeks, is an art major at DSU with a minor in biology.

    She plans to pursue a dental hygiene technology degree, followed by a second bachelor of arts degree in dance choreography.

    At Delta State, she received the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.She is captain of the Delta Belles and a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

    She also attended Mississippi Delta Community College, where she was vice president of scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa, named to the Hall of Fame and Who's Who Among Community College Students.She was also chairman of the Baptist Student Outreach and a Delta Dancer.

    A long-time student of dance, Weeks plans do a tap dance routine as her talent for the competition.

    Weeks' platform for the competition is "Enriching Our Youth Through the Arts."She believes support of the arts is important to a child's development process.

    She has advocated this belief through her work with the Summer Arts Institute at the Bologna Performing Arts Center; as the children's choreographer for Ballet Met Columbus' production of "Beauty and the Beast"; and through her involvement with the Cleveland School District production of "Fame."
