Elene Weege exchanged a medical business career for an artist's life in the 1980s. She attended the University of Wisconsin in Whitewater, Wisconsin as a returning student to study art and focused on oil painting. In 1998 she moved to Montana from the Midwest. Realizing a deep admiration for the Western landscape, she began artistic studies to paint impressionistic pastels of the Montana landscape and big skies. Most recently, Elene has resumed oil painting and uses both pastels and oils to interpret the Montana landscape.
