A Dream Maker Masquerade Gala has been planned for the Holiday Inn on April 1, says Corinne Weegar, director of the Northern Alberta chapter of the Rainbow Society.
"This will be the biggest fundraiser that we've ever pulled off in this area," she says, noting all the funds raised in Grande Prairie remain here to grant wishes to kids in this area."We approved 11 wishes last year in the Grande Prairie area," she adds. The formal evening will start off with a champagne reception at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a delicious five-course dinner.
"Our committee had a sample dinner last week and it was excellent," she says.
A few presentations will follow the dinner, with a special fashion show planned as well.
"It will feature some of the kids that we have granted wishes for and some kids of committee members," she says, pointing out, "You can't tell which kids have had wishes approved and which haven't."

So one of those diamonds will be given away as a door prize and some will be in the silent auction, some in the live auction," notes Weegar.
The auctions will also include various pieces of original art work, a framed, autographed Guy Lafleur jersey, as well as a number of trips."Hopefully there is a lot of stuff that will appeal to both men and women," she says.
