Alison Watrous

Alison Watrous, Associate Minister for Parish Life A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and Andover Newton Theological School, Alison is the newest member of the First Church staff team.A mother of three grown children, she brings a wealth of life experience and innovative ministry experience to her new call.

Alison's previous ministry experience includes serving as a hospital chaplain for a year, and as a Director of Christian Education for eleven years.And visitors to Alison's office need only remark on the bicycle tire on the wall to hear about her passion for bicycling ministry.She has served as Co-Dean for bicycle adventures around New England and the Canadian Maritime Provinces through the Connecticut Conference's Outdoor Ministry program.During each two-week, 500-mile trip, teens and adults grow in faith and self-understanding through their life together on the road as a rolling community of faith.

Alison was called to the First Congregational Church in January of 2002.Her focus is on building and strengthening the discipleship and community of First Church.
