David R. Watroba of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Southfield, Michigan.Mr. Watroba is the director of market relations and trust fund sales for BCBSM.His department services the Labor-Management Community for BCBSM and keeps it abreast of critical developments in the health care field.His department is also responsible for sales and service to Union/Management Health Care Trust Funds.Mr. Watroba is the former president of the Detroit Police Officers Association.As president of MichiganÂ's largest police union, he established extensive contacts with elected and appointed officials in state and local government.He bargained numerous labor agreements and directed staff work on grievances and grievance arbitrations.He has served on the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Training Council, New DetroitÂ's Public Safety and Justice Committee, and the boards of the Detroit Police Athletic League and the Michigan Association of Public Employee Retirement Systems.He has served as an area vice president of the National Association of Police Organizations.Mr. Watroba currently serves on the board of the Michigan Labor-Management Association.For the past 19 years at BCBSM, he has directed sales and service activities in labor, government, and large group markets.He also is on the advisory board of the National Blue Cross Association Labor Office.He was named Â"National Labor Rep of the Year 2002Â" by the Blue Cross Blue Shield AssociationÂ's National Labor Office.
