"When we arrived, it was fully involved," said Jim Wasson, Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department's 2nd assistant chief.
"It was an old house; there were different floors, and there was an attic. The closets were full; so everything burned up pretty quickly."
Wasson believed the house was built in the 1920s.Everything inside was destroyed, including the family pet.
...
"After we were done, the fire investigators came over," Wasson said.
The cause of fire was still under investigation Sunday.
"I'm sure that they have insurance and that the insurance company will want to get in there, too," he said.
...
But it was easily contained, and the crew was back in service at 10:45 a.m., Wasson said.
