Attorney Marc H. Wasserman specializes in personal injury and medical malpractice cases from his office on Long Island.
Wasserman doesn't do anything halfway -- as evidenced by the five undergraduate degrees he earned from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Although he always knew he wanted to practice law, Wasserman first obtained bachelor degrees in Political Science, history, psychology, sociology and philosophy.Only then did he enter the cutting-edge law program at the City University of New York.
Upon graduating with his juris doctorate in 1988, Wasserman first hired into the firm Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker as a litigation attorney.
For four years there, he concentrated on personal injury defense and insurance defense of both general negligence and medical malpractice cases.
For the next two years, he worked as a senior trial attorney managing litigation for the firm Schwartzapfel, Novick, Truhowsky and Marcus.
Taking his keen knowledge of medicine along with his understanding of insurance, Wasserman launched his own practice in Manhattan, and opened a second office in Melville in 1997.
Heading up an independent firm allows him to deal one-on-one with all his clients, many of whom become friends.
His confidence in the courtroom and competence in his field leads to many out-of-court settlements.Of 41 trials, Wasserman has lost just one.
Wasserman is a fellow of the American Trial Lawyers Association; a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers; a member of the Bar Association of New York, and bar associations of New York and New Jersey.
In 1999, he was appointed as federal mediator for the Eastern District of the State of New York.
He is a visiting teacher at CUNY, and a frequent speaker for the New York State Trial Lawyers.
