Maureen's experience as a library board member began with the Keewatin Public Library Board in 1997, and continued through the amalgamation with Kenora in 2000. She is currently an active member, and Vice-Chair of the Kenora Public Library Board.

Board member Maureen Wasacase hoped it would be the beginning of a Friends of the library movement within the community."We want to be able to provide a quality service to all Kenora residents, including Keewatin," she said.
