Mike Walton, ardent new president of the Harpeth River Watershed Association, hopes to draw members into the 2-year-old group this year with that infectious philosophy.Walton believes that just about anyone can fill out a short report on trash along the Harpeth or measure sediment levels in a neighborhood stream with a simple milk jug contraption - and have fun doing it.
'High-end' shops planned for old Upton's
FRANKLIN - The 61,000-square-foot Upton's building, one of the most lucrative pieces of vacant real estate in Cool Springs, has sold for $3.6 million to an Ohio-based investor, Jubilee-Cool Springs LLC.The building and the six-acre tract of land it sits on have been for sale since early last year.The building and property both are owned by Upton's parent company, Atlanta-based American Retail Group.
