    Michelle Walton has been a teacher for seven years at Cypress Trails, teaching primary ESOL students for the past six years.She has a master's degree in TSOL (Teachers of English for Speakers of Other Languages) from Nova Southeastern University and has received training in DLF (Developing Literacy First) and Early Care for ESOL programs.

    "Teaching ESOL allows me the pleasure to work with children from all over the world, and I am always learning about different cultures and customs from them," she said."It is rewarding to watch my students become fluent English speakers while learning to read and write English as well."

    Walton said that it is a great accomplishment for students when they are able to move from the ESOL class to their regular classroom full time."For ESOL students, this is the ultimate goal, and for me it is my personal reward," she said.

    Skeeter Bowl Flag Football Tourney Held At H.L. Johnson

    The classroom teachers at H.L. Johnson Elementary School noticed a "wonderful display of team spirit and sportsmanship" among the fifth grade students as the annual Skeeter Bowl flag football tournament came to an end last month.

    The physical education staff had implemented their fifth flag football tournament last month.

    As with the naming conventions of the NFL's Super Bowl, the game has appropriately been named "Skeeter Bowl V."
