James Walton, chief executive of the Tennis and Rackets Association, said : "Johnstone lost the planning battle to get the thing demolished and instead it was deemed that it should continue to exist.

We have decided that rather than rush into an appointment at the same time that we are holding all our Centenary events, we will ask James Walton to become acting Chief Executive for this summer and beyond, gradually taking the reigns from James Wyatt over the next 2 months.

Many of you will know James Walton as our Hon Treasurer and web builder.He has agreed to carry on with these roles during the summer and after his caretaker reign ends, so we do not currently anticipate any changes to Council.
