Born in Argentina, Silvia Coxe Waltner graduated from Barnard College, Columbia University with a degree in Political Science.She joined Christie's Auction house in 1985.Throughout the next 11 years, Silvia helped shape the great growth of the Latin American art market from $1,000,000 auctions to over $20,000,000 a year in revenues.In 1995, Silvia became head of the Latin American department at Christie's.Now married with two children she lives in Tokyo, where she has lectured on Latin American art and advised both galleries and curators on the subject.Silvia continues to be involved in this market as a private dealer, collector, and author.
