   Ms. Walters is a cum laude graduate of Appalachian State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Paula has taught privately for nine years, formerly in the Boston area. She has taught at the Asbury School of Music since 2000 and has earned a reputation as a first class voice and piano instructor.
   
   As both a soloist and a choir member, she has performed in many countries around the world. She has sung with the North Carolina Master Chorale for several years, and has also performed as a soloist in the Carolina Ballet's performance of Messiah in 2003 and 2004.
   
   Paula began her study of voice at the age of thirteen. Growing up in the suburbs of New York City, she was taught to appreciate Manhattan's music scene. Whether it was attending a Metropolitan Opera dress rehearsal, or a broadway show, her early music teachers made sure to emphasize an appreciation of the versatility of performance style and repertoire. She strives to do the same for her students. Even more importantly, she would like each of her students to realize the gifts that God has given them, and to develop them so that He may be glorified.
   
   Paula lives in Louisburg with her husband, Johnny.
