An agreement has been forged with Gawain Briars, chief executive of the PSA and the joint collaboration of Ziad Al-Turki, vice-president of the Saudi-based ATCO Group, and Paul Walters, founder of the interna tionalSPORTgroup. A five-year contract, with the first option for two further years, the tournament will provide one of the richest prize funds in the sport, a minimum of $675,000 over the committed period to the top eight playerswho annually qualify from the PSA Super Series World Tour.
To be entitled the ATCO Super Series Finals, it is a unique tournament on the men's professional squash calendar."Squash can not afford for a tournament as important as the Super Series Finals to be lost, and since the announcement that this year's event had been cancelled, Paul and I have been working very hard to not only secure the rights for the event but to put in place a solid and sustainable platform from which it can prosper over the short, medium and long term," Ziad Al-Turki said.
Paul Walters of internationalSPORTgroup added: "The Super Series Finals is without question one of the most important events on the PSA World Tour and Ziad and I are thrilled to be promoting the championships as part of this seven-year agreement.
