In the meeting, that was also attended by Clara Walters, Permanent Secretary in the Premier's Ministry, the recent blacklisting of some Caribbean offshore financial jurisdictions by the OFCD was discussed.

He was told by Premier Amory of the efforts being put in place by the OECS and CARICOM countries for the improvement of the necessary legislation.

The heads of delegations include Guyana's Foreign Affairs Minister, Clement Rohee, Jamaica's Portia Simpson Miller, St. Vincent's Minister of Finance Arnhim Eustace, Anguilla's Minister for Social Development Eric Reid, Permanent Secretary Clara Walters of Nevis, St. Maarten's Commissioner Sarah Wescott Williams, and President Conseil General of French Guyana, Andre Lecante.

Said H.E. Ulrich Nitzscke, who also undertook a tour for the island conducted by Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Clara Walters: "We are looking at the establishment of international standards for these kinds of activities (offshore), to avoid disadvantages to industrialised countries like in the area of tax evasion.Germany as an OECD member state has interest in having a dialogue with St. Kitts-Nevis.Discussions held were informative and fruitful in both areas."
