Tim Walter, MB BS, DA, MRCGP.Tim qualified from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, London, in 1985.After studying in Anaesthesia and General Practice he joined as a partner in 1991 whilst maintaining his anaesthetic practice for the first 8 years.He established the Out of Hours service, NEWDOCS, in 1996 and was chairman there for the first 2yrs.Between 1999 and 2002 he has helped steer the practice through the difficult decisions and process of relocation to Monks Lane, and is pleased to see the way all the hard work has paid off as the building developed.He has developed a keen interest in computing, both in the GP arena and specifically the internet.He ran the Emis National User Group mailing list and website for 8 years, for the Emis computing system, used by about 40% of GP nationally.He has gently helped the practice to become as paper free as possible, and is always keen to grasp the opportunities that IT can offer to improving patient care.He has recently completed the Certificate in Medical Education within the Oxford Deanery and Oxford Brookes University, and participates with teaching within the practice.He is married with two children.
