Mickey Waller - Central Defender
Born in Hartlepool, Mickey began his career as a trainee with Middlesborough before he commenced his non-league career with South Bank in the Northern League.He moved to Northallerton Town in the same League before joining Bishop Auckland in the Unibond League for the first time in October 1993.He had a further spell with Northallerton before rejoining Bishops in August 1996.In the summer of 1998, he was transferred to Conference outfit, Morecambe for a four-figure fee but within a couple of months he had returned to the north-east and joined Whitby Town for a similar fee.He joined Barrow in August 1999 and made his debut on the opening day of the season against Guiseley.He went on to enjoy a tremendous season and picked up a number of ‘Player of the Year' awards.However, he had a disappointing start to the 2000-2001 season and following the arrival of Anth Hall from Gateshead, he was released at the end of December.He joined First Division Gretna in early January 2001.
