Wallace has also served as a Senior Editor at Success Magazine and Self, and was a founding Executive Editor at the New York Times Magazine Group.
Wallace has also authored several books.His novel, Hot Water, was published in 1991 by the Soho Press, and is the recipient of a James Michener Award.In 2003, Atria Books published Wallace's nonfiction work, One Great Game: Two Teams, Two Dreams, in the First-Ever National Championship High School Football Game.That same year, he was honored by the U.S. Naval Institute as "Author of the Year" for his contributions to Naval History magazine.
Wallace's hire coincides with Yachting's recent unveiling of an editorial redesign-the culmination of a year's worth of gradual design and edit changes that began with Janssen's hire in December 2003.The new look of the magazine premiered with the November issue-the magazine's largest issue in its third consecutive year of record revenue growth.Yachting is projected to close 2004 with an 11% increase in advertising revenue.
A native of Long Beach, CA, Don Wallace is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz and the Iowa Writers Workshop.He lives with his wife and son in New York City.
