As a National Merit Scholar Eric was offered a number of scholarships but choose to remain in his home State, graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 1985 in the Honors Program, with a Business Bachelor Degrees in Finance, Investment and Banking and in Personal Management and Industrial Relations.
In 1987 at the University of Minnesota he was awarded his MBA in General Management and Business Ethics completing the 2 year course in 14 months.
During the following 2 years he was employed at Dayton's Department Store in Minneapolis, Minnesota as the Selling Manager in the Men's Department overseeing sales of $4.5 million.
The next year at Marshall Field's Department Store he was Employment Manager at Watertower Place, Chicago, Illinois, he recruited, interviewed and hired all non-exempt personnel for a 900 associate facility and reduced turnover from 46% to 17%.Then he advanced to the position of Assistant Store Manager - Human Resources at Orland Park, Illinois supervising all Human Resource functions of a $40 million, 200,000 square foot, 350 associate facility including hiring, training, payroll, benefits, discipline, review process, employee morale and all other Human Resource responsibilities.
The following 18 months were spent as Assistant Store Manager - Administration where he assumed additional responsibilities of Operations including a $3.8 million payroll, $7.4 million in expenses, building maintenance, merchandise flow and all other non-selling functions as well as assuming responsibility of Junior's, Men's and Kid's Departments, with 5 managers and 90 associates as reports.
Moving to Pitney Bowes Management Services he was Site Manager managing the largest site in the Illinois/Wisconsin area with 1 manager and 37 associates, $1.9 million revenue and $0.2 profit responsibilities.After 3 months in the position his contract was renewed for 5 years!
From January 1996 until October 1998 he was Account Manager responsible for 10 accounts with 105 associates, $5.4 million revenue, $1.2 million profit and for client and employee satisfaction, quality of client workflow and Human Resource functions.
From then until June 1999 he acted as an Account Manager at the Los Angeles, California offices of P.B.M.S. managing 2 accounts with 49 associates, $3.1 million revenue, $0.3 million profit responsibilities, maintaining a local account which had been lost nationally to competition.
Most recently he is National Account Manager at Uniscribe Professional Services, Inc. in Los Angeles, California managing the company's largest account with 7 locations nationally, 84 associates, $7.6 million revenue and $0.8 million profit responsibilities.
With effect from August 2000 he was given the additional responsibility of being the company's National Solutions Architect, a trouble shooting position which requires him to travel nationally visiting the 62 sites of the company as necessary to investigate problems and design and over see solutions to them.
In October 2001 promotion was made to General Manager of the O'Melveny & Myers, LLP sites and in March 2002 he accepted the position of Regional Vice President East Coast Operations with 31 accounts and 2 vice presidents reporting to him in respect of an annual billing of $19 million.
