Robin Wagstaff

Robin Wagstaff is a loan officer at GMAC Mortgage in Kahului, Maui.He also donates 10 percent of all his earned income to a scholarship he has established for Maui county high school students entering accredited college curriculums.

The scholarship is an example of Wagstaff's commitment to give back to the community of Maui, where he was raised.A graduate of Seabury Hall and Haleakala School, Wagstaff went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine at Colorado State University.His dedication to the island brought him back to Maui, where he completed an internship at HealthSouth before moving into orthopedic sales.His enjoyment of the customer service side of sales finally led him into the mortgage industry.

As a loan officer, he is able to help local families achieve the dream of home ownership.He plans to begin offering free mortgage classes to first-time home buyers and investors later this year.

"It's so important to me to contribute to the overall good of our community," Wagstaff says."With the way prices are here on Maui, I know it can seem impossible to buy a home, but I want to show people that with the right plan and the right attitude, it can happen."
